Maria Mikheyenko (Soprano), a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Maria Mikheyenko is actively involved in bringing Russian repertoire to audiences of all backgrounds, performing Russian Romance recitals throughout the Bay Area. She has sung roles with Pocket Opera, Berkeley Opera, Sacramento Opera, Opera Lafayette, Rome Festival, Oakland Opera Theater, Bay Shore Lyric Opera, and Austrian American Mozart Academy of Salzburg. In the world of contemporary opera, she has performed various roles with the San Francisco Cabaret Opera, and has had the honor of singing in several world premiere works, including Leonardo's Notebooks, Belfagor, and Trap Door by Lisa Scola Prosek, as well as John Bilotta's award-winning Quantum Mechanic and Trifles. Maria also enjoys collaborating with groups that cross the boundaries of traditional opera and challenge stereotypes. She recently starred in Bollywood Lakme: The Making of a Performance Piece with Opera Frontier, and made her debut performance last spring with Her Rebel Highness, a trio of 18th century princesses who sing, dance, and take control of their own destinies. Having just completed a sold-out run of CHICAGO with Pacific Repertory Theatre, Maria looks forward to returning for her second season with the Bracebridge Dinner, a world-renowned holiday theatrical extravaganza celebrating its 84th year at the historic Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park.
