Lammermoor, Inc: A Business Tragedy in Two Operas
May, 14 and 16, 2010
Stage Director/Choreographer: TOM SEGAL Music Director: BRYAN BAKER
AUDITIONS: On-going, by appointment, until March 21, or until all roles are cast
This fully-staged opera uses unmodified music from both “La Traviata”
and “Lucia di Lammermoor” to tell a contemporary story about a business
deal that ends in tragedy. The story is told with supertitles that are
not necessarily exact translations, but are always faithful to the
character of the original work. The story is engaging and timely.
Rehearsals begin April 11; Performances are May 14 and 16, 2010 at the
theater located at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley
(Kensington address). Leads can anticipate a modest stipend -- covering
no more than local transportation.
